You Will Hear
2022
You Will Hear is Lark L. Pilinsky painting the sound of nature itself. This luminous 36" × 48" mixed media canvas fills with the soft, breathable quality of a morning in an open meadow — a vast, pearlescent ground of misty whites, warm gold, and pale sage creating an atmosphere of extraordinary stillness and spaciousness. From within that luminous haze, two masses of living, flowering vegetation emerge with delicate, almost trembling energy — the upper cluster rich with yellow-green foliage and reaching stems, the lower border alive with wildflowers in soft pinks, blues, and golds, rendered in Lark's signature layered, gestural brushwork that gives every leaf and petal its own quiet pulse. Diagonal crosshatch marks sweep across the right side of the canvas like light through gauze, or wind made briefly visible — one of the most tender and original passages in her collection. A luminous burst of yellow and blue in the upper right corner anchors the composition with a note of joyful color. The overall effect is deeply meditative — a painting that doesn't ask to be looked at so much as listened to, exactly as its title promises. Signed by the artist. Framed.
