Wild Colors Day

Wild Colors Day

2022

Wild Colors Day is Lark L. Pilinsky at her most quietly enchanting. This vertical 30" × 48" acrylic and oil canvas opens into a vast, luminous expanse of soft teal, sage, and misty green — a breathing, atmospheric ground that gives the composition an almost supernatural sense of open air and diffused light. The canvas belongs almost entirely to stillness, until the eye travels to the lower right corner where a richly detailed world suddenly erupts into life — a dense, jewel-toned tangle of wildflowers, foliage, and vegetation in deep greens, burnt oranges, vivid yellows, and reds, alive with the layered, gestural energy of Lark's most expressive brushwork. Emerging from that wild abundance, a solitary bird — rendered with tender, unhurried detail — bows its head into the foliage, a moment of pure nature caught mid-breath. Sweeping white grass stems arc gracefully from the dense undergrowth out into the open canvas like calligraphic marks, connecting the wild and the serene in a single fluid gesture. The deliberate tension between vast emptiness and concentrated life gives this painting a meditative power that is entirely Lark's own — a true Conversation With Nature in every sense. Signed by the artist. Framed.
