Pink Mountain Lake

There is a place Lark has always carried inside her — a mountain valley where the air hums with color, where light doesn't simply illuminate but pours through the world like a living river. This painting is a return to that place. The arching sweep of the rainbow-streaked form at the composition's heart is not a tunnel or a wave so much as a threshold — an invitation to step through the ordinary and into something luminous and whole. The tall, quiet trees at the right edge stand as ancient witnesses, their roots deep in the green earth below, their canopies dissolving into a sky of soft rose and gold. Lark painted this not from observation but from memory and meditation — from the cellular knowledge of what it feels like to stand in wild nature and feel the boundary between self and landscape dissolve. The stream that winds through the lower foreground carries with it the sound of high-altitude water, cold and clear and ancient. Every gestural stroke is a breath, every layered pigment a vibration. To sit with this painting is to remember something you may have never consciously known — that the natural world is always offering healing, always moving in color, always opening a door.
